My Power Rankings

Posted:  November 21, 2007

This is the first week of the first lady's power rankings.  These rankings are based on records, performance, injuries, and other factors that have led us up to this point in the season.  Beginning next week the rankings of the previous week will be listed in parentheses next to the current ranking.  If you have any comments be sure to leave them in the guestbook and they will be addressed on the site within the week.  I hope that you are all ready for some football!

2008 Power Rankings
Keep in mind that these rankings are based on records from the '07 season, the draft, free agency,  injuries, etc.

Indianapolis Colts  13-3 A healthy (and free) Harrison combined with many of the same components from last year makes this team very difficult to beat.
 2 New England Patriots
16-0 The Moss/ Brady combo still makes this team legendary, but can the defense keep it together?
 3  Dallas Cowboys  13-3
Pacman (sorry A. Jones)? If so, this team will have another amazing season with T.O. and Romo. Their weakest spots are at wide receiver and running back because of depth if their starters go down, but I hate to say it:  this team is stacked
4 San Diego Chargers  11-5 Seems to be a favorite to make it to the Super Bowl.  I need to be convinced.  Just stay healthy.
 5  Jacksonville Jaguars
11-5 They have a simple goal....take the division from the Colts.  With Gregg Williams changing up the D, this could make an already good defense great.
 6  Pittsburgh Steelers
10-6  Looking like a very strong and complete team.
 7  New York Giants
10-6 Will they prove that their win was skill, not luck?
 8  Seattle Seahawks
10-6 Duckett and J. Jones could bring new life in along with Solari to coach the O-line.
9   Cleveland Browns  10-6 Keep the surprises coming.  Let's especially hope to see a surprise from the defense.
10  Philadelphia Eagles  8-8 I placed them this high because with a healthy Donovan McNabb and Asante Samuel coming in, this could be a big shocker.
 11  Green Bay Packers
13-3 Now that the legend has left, can his former teammates make him proud?  Good luck Rodgers.
 12  Tennessee Titans
10-6  Vince, it's still up to you kid.
 13  Tampa Bay Buccaneers
9-7 He's back....W. Dunn.  Will he be the missing link for the Bucs?
 14  Buffalo Bills
7-9 Big Baby AKA Marcus Stroud  has come in  and will likely take care of their problem with the run defense.
 15  New Orleans Saints
7-9 After game one, this team may move up quickly.  Don't be surprised to see the  Saints playing some dominating football.
 16  Minnesota Vikings
8-8 Peterson is spectacular.....can the rest of the team live up to Peterson's level?  If not, I should have listed this team a few spots lower.
 17  Washington Redskins
9-7   This is practically a brand new team.  Can Portis and the fellas finish what they tried to start last season?
 18  Houston Texans
8-8  Three things will hinder this team from reaching the play-offs: 1) the Colts 2) the Jaguars and 3) the Titans.  And it will probably be in that order.

 19  Arizona Cardinals
8-8  They need to fill positions on both sides of the ball and leave too many doubts to be a sure bet for the play offs.  They need to lock up those key elements.
 20  Carolina Panthers
7-9 Can they take the top spot in their division away from the Bucs?  Nope.  Even if Delhomme stays injury free, this team doesn't look so hot.
 21  New York Jets
4-12  Even when they do finally settle on a QB, these guys have a long up-hill battle.  Too many pieces are missing.
 22  Chicago Bears
7-9  Grossman's abilities are still.....uh gross.  Consistency Rex.
 23  Denver Broncos
7-9 Bailey still looks good, Marshall says he feels great and they act as if they are ready to go, nut I'm not impressed.  Let's not forget about Henry being released. Who will fill that void?
 24  Cincinnatti Bengals
7-9  Part of being a leader is taking the credit for the good and the blame for the bad.  Can Johnson be the leader (and not the entertainer) this year?
 25  Baltimore Ravens
5-11 Smith, Flacco, or Boller?  It's looking like Smith is a good bet, but a great deal of their season will depend on the QB.
26  San Francisco 49ers  5-11 Gore will be the leader.  Can Nolan coach Gore and the rest of the team to greatness?
 27 St. Louis Rams
3-13  Get your offense up to par and keep them healthy.
 28 Oakland Raiders
4-12  J. Russell, it's time to earn your paycheck and let's hope that McFadden can help out as well.  If offense, defense, and special teams can get on the same page, this may be too low, but we can only hope.
29  Kansas City Chiefs  4-12 Can Herm coach this very young team to the play-offs?  I doubt it, but we'll see.
 30  Detroit Lions
7-9 Sorry fellas, but 8 years is much too long for you to still be in your transition phase.
 31  Miami Dolphins
1-15  Let's face it, they have no where to go but up.
 32  Atlanta Falcons
4-12 They took the Jaguars defensive coordinator as their new head coach.  M. Smith is a great guy, but even he is no miracle worker.
